A new defibrillator is in town16 May 2019

Thanks to the good auspices of the Rotary Club of Highcliffe a new defibrillator will be available for public access 24/7 at the Methodist church in the High Street.

This has been brought about by Rotary with the main drivers being Rotarians John Spenser and John Zeale.

Special mention is made for the help and generosity of the Methodist Church, the Co-op and their customers, the customers of Tesco, the Rogers family, the Harris family and Chastney Electrical Contractors.

There are 2 defibrillators at Highcliffe School, one at Highcliffe Golf Club, one at Hoburne Dental practice in Saffron Drive, Somerford, one at the Beach Hut Cafe on Avon Beach and one in Greystones.

The Defibrillator Awareness Courses have now been arranged for Friday 31 May 2019 (the day before the Food Festival).

The first course will be in the Methodist Church Hall from 4pm.
The second will be in St Marks Church Hall, Hinton Wood Avenue from 7pm

Each course will last about 1 hour.

Officially the course is called Cardiac Arrest Response Seminar and will be given by Dave Laut of Community Heartbeat

The Community is invited, the course is free and each individual can have a certificate of attendance if they wish.

Well done Rotary!
