The Highcliffe Residents Association has been asked to remind residents and home-owners of the need to fill in their census forms, even if the property concerned is empty or a second home.
Although Census Day has passed there is still time to complete. A trusted relative, friend or carer can provide assistance to anyone who needs help completing their census. It's totally fine for a helper to do it for them, you can even get a new access code sent to your mobile and talk through the online form with them.
The census is totally confidential, the only reason you have to add your name is so that each person is counted only once. It doesn't affect any benefits being received or immigration status, the information isn't shared outside of the Office for National Statistics - no other government or private organisation like a landlord can access the data. It's actually a crime for the ONS to share any personal response data.
The last day to complete the census online is 4th May - after that the Non-Compliance Team do start following up and there is the potential of a £1,000 fine for non-completion.
So if you haven't got round to it, please seek any help you may need!
