The Highcliffe Residents Association is run entirely by volunteers, several of whom have to retire shortly on grounds of health, age, or other commitments. The retirements will take effect as from the impending AGM, which will be held - if permitted by the COVID-19 restrictions then in force - on 14 December 2020.
If HRA is to continue to represent residents' views and concerns, and to make The Old School available as a community hall facility, we really do need additional volunteers (a)for the Executive Committee, and/or (b) as Directors of HRA CIC (and eventually as a possible Chair of the Association).
The HRA is legally structured as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, which currently has a Board of 5 Directors. The Directors are supported by other members of the Executive Committee, each carrying out specific tasks. We are very grateful to our existing volunteers, who fill key roles in keeping HRA running.
Our Book-keeper, Communications Officer, Hall Bookings Officer, and Secretary are among those having to retire and requiring replacement. HRA will also need expertise in such fields as building maintenance, company law, planning, administration, and local issues. Richard will be happy to outline what is involved, and - if you are interested - to arrange a meeting with other HRA Directors to explore the options further. If possible, we would like to make any additional appointments at the planned AGM on 14 December 2020. So do get in touch!
