Background
Highcliffe Residents' Association was formed in 1945 to ensure that the unique character of the village and its surrounds is maintained. It has grown to be a powerful voice in local affairs, campaigning ceaselessly to preserve the lasting character of the area.

In 2007 the Association became a Community Interest Company (CIC), which gave many benefits, not least of which was to allow the Association, both Executive and membership, to be more effective in campaigning for the future of Highcliffe. For further information about HRA CIC, go to the Companies House website and look for Company No. 06211853.

Membership
Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, or owns or occupies a property in Highcliffe and its immediate neighbourhood, and who is interested in keeping the village vibrant and attractive.

As the Association is a Community Interest Company, its members are automatically Members of the Company, and as such can take part in the appointment of Directors, the election of members of the Executive Committee, and decisions on the policies which the Association should pursue.

The Association holds Quarterly Members’ Meetings to discuss current issues, as well as occasional additional meetings if there is an urgent need.

How to Join?
To become a member, simply join and pay online using the form on this page, or submit a completed printable form. The annual subscription is £5 on joining and on subsequent renewals (every 1 April).

As a member of HRA CIC (which is a Company Limited by Guarantee), you are liable to contribute a sum not exceeding £1 in the event that the company is wound up during your membership (or within one year thereafter) with outstanding liabilities.

Come on Board!
A strong membership base enables the Association to be more effective in ascertaining residents’ views about local matters, and in campaigning to make those views known.

All residents are most welcome to join, and to take an active part in the life of the Association.
